Egyptian reciter who studied at al-Azhar and then settled in Tanta, teaching at the Ahmadi Mosque; he was regarded as a leading reciter of his time. He took the readings from al-Badri, al-Rashidi and Isma'il al-Mahalli, and his son Mustafa al-Mihi learned from him. He died in Rabi' al-Awwal 1204 AH.
