Makin al-Din Abu al-Hasan Tahir ibn Muhammad al-Nuwayri, a Maliki reciter of Cairo and al-Azhar, born 795 AH. He read the ten readings with Ibn al-Jazari up to the start of Surat al-Nisa' and with other teachers. Zakariya al-Ansari and Ridwan al-Uqbi read with him, and al-Sakhawi heard from him. He died in Rabi' al-Awwal 856 AH.
