Abu Ali al-Hasan ibn al-Abbas ibn Abi Mihran al-Razi, called al-Jammal, was a trustworthy Qur'an reader from Rayy who settled in Baghdad. He learned the reading from Ahmad ibn Yazid al-Halwani and taught in Baghdad, where Ibn Mujahid was among his foremost students. He died in Ramadan 289 AH.
