No. 3 in the chain from the Prophet ﷺ الحجاز Another source gives: 130 AH / 747–748 CE
Shayba ibn Nisah, a client of Umm Salama, was a Successor and the Qur'an teacher of Medina alongside Abu Ja'far, and served as its judge. He read with Abd Allah ibn Ayyash ibn Abi Rabi'a; Ibn al-Jazari rejects the claim that he read with Ibn Abbas or Abu Hurayra. Nafi', Sulayman ibn Jammaz, Isma'il ibn Ja'far and Abu Amr ibn al-Ala' read with him, and he was the first to write a book on pausing (waqf). He died in 130 AH (also said 138).
