Biography

A Companion from the Daws tribe who embraced Islam in 7 AH, lived among the People of the Suffa, and became the most prolific narrator of hadith. He governed Bahrain and later Medina. He read the Qur'an with Ubayy ibn Ka'b, and al-A'raj and Abu Ja'far Yazid ibn al-Qa'qa' read with him. He died in Medina and was buried in al-Baqi'.
