Abu Ja'far Yazid ibn al-Qa'qa' of Medina, a Successor who died in 130 AH. He read with his patron Abd Allah ibn Ayyash, with Abu Hurayra and with Ibn Abbas, and Nafi' read with him. As a child he was brought to Umm Salama, who prayed for him؛ he led Abd Allah ibn Umar in prayer and taught the Qur'an before the Battle of al-Harra in 63 AH.
