An Egyptian reader from Qalyubia and one of the leading licensers of the minor and major ten readings in his time; his nephew, the reciter Muhammad Jibril, described him as holding the highest chain in the ten readings. He read with Ahmad Abd al-Aziz al-Zayyat and Ali al-Qalyubi. He died in February 2021.
