Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Harun al-Rab'i of Baghdad, known as Abu Nashit, a trustworthy Qur'an reader and hadith narrator. He was one of the foremost students of Qalun, Nafi's transmitter, and Qalun's transmission is still received through his path. Abu Hassan Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Ash'ath was among his students; he lived in Baghdad.
