Muhibb al-Din Abu al-Qasim Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Nuwayri al-Maymuni al-Qahiri al-Maliki, born in Rajab 801 AH at al-Maymun in Upper Egypt. He read the ten readings with Ibn al-Jazari, whom he met in Mecca, studied Maliki law with al-Basati and heard from Ibn Hajar. His works include the commentary on Tayyibat al-Nashr, al-Qawl al-Jadh on the irregular readings, and al-Ghiyath on the three readings. Zakariyya al-Ansari was among his students; he died in Mecca on 4 Jumada I 857 AH and was buried at al-Ma'la.
