Ya-Sin is the surah most Muslims memorise after Al-Fatiha and the short ones, and its 83 verses are built from five clear movements — an opening oath, one story, a tour of the visible world, the scene of judgement, and a closing argument about the Qur'an itself.
At this pace the whole surah takes 28 study days.
Study days are days you actually sit down to memorise — miss one and the plan simply moves with you.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ يسٓ…قَدَّمُوا۟ وَءَاثَٰرَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ فِىٓ إِمَامٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
The Qur'an sworn by, the messenger confirmed, and a people whose fathers were never warned.
Study days 1-4
وَٱضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَآءَهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ…وَإِن كُلٌّۭ لَّمَّا جَمِيعٌۭ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ
Three messengers rejected, the man who came running from the far end of the city, and what he said after.
Study days 5-11
وَءَايَةٌۭ لَّهُمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ ٱلْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَٰهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّۭا…إِلَّا رَحْمَةًۭ مِّنَّا وَمَتَٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ
Dead earth revived, the night stripped from the day, the sun and moon on their courses, and the loaded ship.
Study days 11-15
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا…وَمَن نُّعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ ۖ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ
The excuses of the deniers, the single blast, and the day mouths are sealed and hands speak.
Study days 15-23
وَمَا عَلَّمْنَٰهُ ٱلشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ…فَسُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِى بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
The Qur'an defended, the man who argues from a decayed bone, and the answer: He created it the first time.
Study days 23-28
The one believer in the story is given four verses and no name, and what he says after he is killed is the only line of dialogue from the next world in the whole surah.
