An-Nisa opens by reminding everyone that all people came from one soul, and then legislates for the people most easily overlooked: orphans, women, the weak, and captives. It contains the law of inheritance and the rules for prayer under threat.
At this pace the whole surah takes 59 study days.
Study days are days you actually sit down to memorise — miss one and the plan simply moves with you.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمُ…حُدُودَهُۥ يُدْخِلْهُ نَارًا خَٰلِدًۭا فِيهَا وَلَهُۥ عَذَابٌۭ مُّهِينٌۭ
Fear Allah and the wombs; the property of orphans; the shares of inheritance set out — and these are the limits of Allah.
Study days 1-5
وَٱلَّٰتِى يَأْتِينَ ٱلْفَٰحِشَةَ مِن نِّسَآئِكُمْ فَٱسْتَشْهِدُوا۟ عَلَيْهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةًۭ…يُوَفِّقِ ٱللَّهُ بَيْنَهُمَآ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا خَبِيرًۭا
Repentance accepted from those who do wrong in ignorance; the women forbidden in marriage; and: men are responsible for women.
Study days 5-12
وَٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِهِۦ شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَٰنًۭا…ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَضْلُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ عَلِيمًۭا
To parents, relatives, orphans, the poor, the near and distant neighbour, the companion, the traveller; ablution; and obey Allah, the Messenger and those in authority.
Study days 12-24
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ خُذُوا۟ حِذْرَكُمْ فَٱنفِرُوا۟ ثُبَاتٍ أَوِ…ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَرْجُونَ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا
Those who make excuses; the killing of a believer by mistake; the greeting that must be answered; and how to pray while under threat.
Study days 24-35
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لِتَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ…وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ مُّحِيطًۭا
Do not argue on behalf of those who betray themselves; the thief a group tried to protect; and: it is not by your wishes nor theirs.
Study days 35-42
وَيَسْتَفْتُونَكَ فِى ٱلنِّسَآءِ ۖ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِيهِنَّ وَمَا…ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ أَن تَضِلُّوا۟ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌۢ
The wife who fears desertion; you will never be able to be perfectly equal; the People of the Book addressed; and the final verse on distant heirs.
Study days 43-59
The surah repeatedly ties fear of Allah to treatment of the powerless — the same verse that opens it names the wombs through which people are related.
