Aal-'Imran is the surah of Uhud: it spends nearly sixty verses on a battle the Muslims lost, explaining exactly what went wrong and refusing to soften it. Before that come the family of 'Imran and a long address to the People of the Book.
At this pace the whole surah takes 67 study days.
Study days are days you actually sit down to memorise — miss one and the plan simply moves with you.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ الٓمٓ…وَٱلرَّسُولَ ۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
Those in whose hearts is deviation follow what is ambiguous; the adornments made attractive to people; and: if you love Allah, then follow me.
Study days 1-11
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ءَادَمَ وَنُوحًۭا وَءَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَءَالَ…فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
The vow of a woman carrying a child, Maryam in the sanctuary, Zakariyya's prayer, the birth of 'Isa, and the mutual imprecation offered.
Study days 11-21
قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ تَعَالَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ كَلِمَةٍۢ سَوَآءٍۭ بَيْنَنَا…عِوَجًۭا وَأَنتُمْ شُهَدَآءُ ۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
Come to a word common between us; why do you clothe truth with falsehood; and the first house established for mankind at Bakkah.
Study days 22-33
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ فَرِيقًۭا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ…يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌۭ
Do not be divided; remember when you were enemies and He joined your hearts; and do not take intimates from outside your own.
Study days 34-40
وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَٰعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِ…بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ ۚ وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَلَكُمْ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌۭ
Leaving your family at dawn, the two groups that almost lost heart, the wound that the enemy also felt, and the gentleness that held them together.
Study days 41-60
وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن…ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱصْبِرُوا۟ وَصَابِرُوا۟ وَرَابِطُوا۟ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
The stinginess that becomes a collar; those who remember Allah standing, sitting and on their sides — and: be patient, persevere, and remain stationed.
Study days 60-67
The verse that follows the defeat is about gentleness — had you been harsh, they would have dispersed from around you — placed where a rebuke would have been expected.
