Ghafir is named after forgiveness in its third verse and is carried by a single speech: a man in Pharaoh's own court who had hidden his faith and stood up to argue for Musa's life. It is the longest speech by an unnamed believer in the Qur'an.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ حمٓ…بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَكَفَرُوا۟ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ قَوِىٌّۭ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ
Severe in punishment; the angels bearing the Throne asking forgiveness for the believers; and the Day of the Approaching, when hearts are at the throats.
Study days 1-8
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍ…وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدْخِلُوٓا۟ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَشَدَّ ٱلْعَذَابِ
His speech in full — the arguments, the warning of the day of calling out, and the punishment that surrounded Pharaoh's people.
Study days 8-16
وَإِذْ يَتَحَآجُّونَ فِى ٱلنَّارِ فَيَقُولُ ٱلضُّعَفَٰٓؤُا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟…إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِى سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ
The weak asking the arrogant to carry a portion; the keepers of Hell asked to intercede — and: call upon Me, I will respond to you.
Study days 16-20
ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ لِتَسْكُنُوا۟ فِيهِ وَٱلنَّهَارَ…ٱلَّتِى قَدْ خَلَتْ فِى عِبَادِهِۦ ۖ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
The night to rest in and the day to see by; the forms He shaped you in; and the belief of Pharaoh's people at the moment it could not help.
Study days 21-29
His argument is procedural, not theological — kill a man for saying 'my Lord is Allah' and if he is lying it is on him, and if he is truthful some of what he warns you of will strike you.
