Ar-Rahman is held together by one repeated question asked thirty-one times, and its blocks are the answers it keeps interrupting: the gifts of creation, the reckoning, and then two gardens, and two more beneath them. The refrain makes it one of the easiest long surahs to hold.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ…فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
The Qur'an taught, man created and given speech, the sun and moon reckoned, and the balance set.
Study days 1-5
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلْصَٰلٍۢ كَٱلْفَخَّارِ…فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Man from clay and the jinn from flame, the Lord of the two easts and two wests, and everything upon it passing away.
Study days 5-10
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ…فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
The sky split like red hide, the criminals known by their marks, and the fire they are sent between.
Study days 11-15
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ…فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
For the one who feared standing before his Lord: branches, two flowing springs, and fruit of every kind in pairs.
Study days 16-21
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ…تَبَٰرَكَ ٱسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى ٱلْجَلَٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
Two darker gardens, gushing springs, and the closing blessing of the name of the Lord of Majesty.
Study days 21-26
The surah opens with teaching the Qur'an before it mentions creating man — the order is deliberate, and the whole surah is an argument about which gift is greater.
