An-Naml is named after an ant whose warning to her colony Sulayman overheard and smiled at. Its centre is the exchange between Sulayman and the queen of Sheba, carried by a hoopoe, and its end is a run of questions about who actually creates.
At this pace the whole surah takes 31 study days.
Study days are days you actually sit down to memorise — miss one and the plan simply moves with you.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ طسٓ ۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْقُرْءَانِ…أَنفُسُهُمْ ظُلْمًۭا وَعُلُوًّۭا ۚ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
Musa sent to Pharaoh with nine clear signs, which they rejected out of injustice and arrogance while certain of them.
Study days 1-5
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا دَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَٰنَ عِلْمًۭا ۖ وَقَالَا ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ…ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِى وَأَسْلَمْتُ مَعَ سُلَيْمَٰنَ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
The speech of birds, the ant's warning, the news from Sheba, the letter, the throne brought in an instant, and the glass floor.
Study days 5-15
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَٰلِحًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟…وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًۭا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
The nine men who plotted at night and swore by Allah, the plot that recoiled — and the rain sent on those who were warned.
Study days 15-20
قُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ…سَيُرِيكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ فَتَعْرِفُونَهَا ۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
Five questions each ending 'is there a god with Allah?'; the beast that speaks; the trumpet; and the mountains passing like clouds.
Study days 20-31
Sulayman's response to being given power over wind, jinn and speech is a prayer to be enabled to be grateful — which is the only reaction the surah records from him.
