Al-Qari'ah names the Day by its sound — the striking calamity — gives two images of what it does to people and to mountains, then reduces the entire outcome to whether the scales are heavy or light.
At this pace the whole surah takes 4 study days.
Study days are days you actually sit down to memorise — miss one and the plan simply moves with you.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱلْقَارِعَةُ…وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ
What will make you know it — the day people are like scattered moths and the mountains like carded wool.
Study days 1-2
فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ…نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ
Heavy scales and a pleasant life; light scales and an abyss — and the fire the question is left resting on.
Study days 2-4
The final question is left unanswered on purpose: 'and what will make you know what it is?' — followed by a fire, and nothing more.
