Al-Isra opens on the night journey to the furthest mosque and then, in the middle of it, gives the commandments that community was to live by — worship, parents, relatives, no waste, no killing of children, no approaching adultery, no claiming what you do not know.
At this pace the whole surah takes 37 study days.
Study days are days you actually sit down to memorise — miss one and the plan simply moves with you.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَسْرَىٰ بِعَبْدِهِۦ…يَرْحَمَكُمْ ۚ وَإِنْ عُدتُّمْ عُدْنَا ۘ وَجَعَلْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ حَصِيرًا
From the Sacred Mosque to the furthest mosque; and the two times the Children of Israel would cause corruption in the land.
Study days 1-3
إِنَّ هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ يَهْدِى لِلَّتِى هِىَ أَقْوَمُ وَيُبَشِّرُ…وَٱتَّخَذَ مِنَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنَٰثًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَقُولُونَ قَوْلًا عَظِيمًۭا
Worship none but Him; be good to parents; give the relative his due; do not squander; do not kill your children fearing poverty; do not approach adultery; and do not pursue what you have no knowledge of.
Study days 3-14
وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَا فِى هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانِ لِيَذَّكَّرُوا۟ وَمَا يَزِيدُهُمْ…مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَفَضَّلْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ كَثِيرٍۢ مِّمَّنْ خَلَقْنَا تَفْضِيلًۭا
The Qur'an recited and a veil placed; the denial of resurrection after bones; the honouring of the children of Adam; and the ships driven for you at sea.
Study days 14-24
يَوْمَ نَدْعُوا۟ كُلَّ أُنَاسٍۭ بِإِمَٰمِهِمْ ۖ فَمَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ…رَبِّىٓ إِذًۭا لَّأَمْسَكْتُمْ خَشْيَةَ ٱلْإِنفَاقِ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ قَتُورًۭا
The prayer at the decline of the sun and the recitation at dawn; the night vigil; and: the Spirit is from the command of my Lord.
Study days 24-34
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ تِسْعَ ءَايَٰتٍۭ بَيِّنَٰتٍۢ ۖ فَسْـَٔلْ بَنِىٓ…وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ وَلِىٌّۭ مِّنَ ٱلذُّلِّ ۖ وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيرًۢا
Given to Musa; the Qur'an sent down in truth and revealed in stages; and: call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful — whichever you call, His are the best names.
Study days 34-37
The instruction about parents is the most specific in the Qur'an: do not say 'uff' to them, and lower for them the wing of humility out of mercy.
