Al-Insan begins before a person existed at all — a period when he was not a thing worth mentioning — and then describes the reward of people who fed the poor, the orphan and the captive out of love for Allah while fearing a difficult day.
At this pace the whole surah takes 11 study days.
Study days are days you actually sit down to memorise — miss one and the plan simply moves with you.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَٰنِ…إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ سَلَٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَٰلًۭا وَسَعِيرًا
A period passed over man, then a mingled drop; hearing and sight given, and the way shown — grateful or ungrateful.
Study days 1-2
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍۢ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا…إِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءًۭ وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا
A cup of camphor, food given to the poor, the orphan and the captive; safety from that day, and silk, silver and a drink of ginger.
Study days 2-8
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًۭا…يَشَآءُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ وَٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۢا
The Qur'an sent down in stages; remember your Lord morning and evening — and this is a reminder for whoever wills a way to his Lord.
Study days 8-11
They fed others 'while loving it themselves' and asked for neither payment nor thanks, and the surah spends twenty verses describing what they were given for it.
