Al-Hajj is the only surah that carries both Makkan and Madinan legislation side by side: the terror of the Hour, the stages of human creation, the rites of pilgrimage, and the first verse ever revealed permitting the Muslims to fight back.
At this pace the whole surah takes 26 study days.
Study days are days you actually sit down to memorise — miss one and the plan simply moves with you.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ…إِلَى ٱلطَّيِّبِ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ وَهُدُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ
The nursing mother distracted from her child; the stages from dust to a clot; and the two adversaries who dispute about their Lord.
Study days 1-8
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَسْجِدِ…ءَامَنُوٓا۟ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ خَوَّانٍۢ كَفُورٍ
The House made equal for resident and visitor, the call proclaimed to mankind, the sacrificial animals — and it is your piety that reaches Him.
Study days 9-13
أُذِنَ لِلَّذِينَ يُقَٰتَلُونَ بِأَنَّهُمْ ظُلِمُوا۟ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ…لَيُدْخِلَنَّهُم مُّدْخَلًۭا يَرْضَوْنَهُۥ ۗ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلِيمٌ حَلِيمٌۭ
The first verse allowing the wronged to fight; the towns whose wells are abandoned; and it is not eyes that go blind, but hearts.
Study days 13-20
ذَٰلِكَ وَمَنْ عَاقَبَ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبَ بِهِۦ ثُمَّ…وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ هُوَ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ ۖ فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَوْلَىٰ وَنِعْمَ ٱلنَّصِيرُ
Every nation given rites of its own, the fly that no idol could create — and: He named you Muslims before.
Study days 20-26
The call to pilgrimage was addressed to Ibrahim, and the surah says people have been answering it from every distant pass ever since.
