Al-Fath was revealed on the road back from Hudaybiyyah, about a treaty that looked to the Companions like a defeat, and it opens by calling it a clear victory. It records the pledge under the tree and the dream of entering the Sacred Mosque.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًۭا…أَوْفَىٰ بِمَا عَٰهَدَ عَلَيْهُ ٱللَّهَ فَسَيُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًۭا
The tranquillity sent down to increase their faith; and the pledge given to you is a pledge given to Allah — His hand is above their hands.
Study days 1-4
سَيَقُولُ لَكَ ٱلْمُخَلَّفُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ شَغَلَتْنَآ أَمْوَٰلُنَا وَأَهْلُونَا…مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۖ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ يُعَذِّبْهُ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭا
The Bedouins who said their property and families kept them; the promise of spoils to come, and the excuse allowed to the blind and the lame.
Study days 4-6
لَّقَدْ رَضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ يُبَايِعُونَكَ تَحْتَ…ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ مِنْهُم مَّغْفِرَةًۭ وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًۢا
Allah was pleased with them; the hands restrained in the valley of Makkah; the dream confirmed; and their description in the Torah and the Gospel.
Study days 6-10
The tranquillity sent down into the believers' hearts is mentioned three times in this surah — it is what the treaty was actually for.
