Biography

Egyptian Shafi'i reciter born in al-Darb al-Ahmar, Cairo, who became head of all Egyptian maqra'as. He wrote many verse works and commentaries on the readings and orthography, including Fath al-Karim, al-Rawd al-Nadir and Fath al-Mu'ti. He died in Cairo in Rabi' al-Awwal 1313 AH and was buried in al-Qarafa.
