Cairene reciter famed for public recitation, called al-Juraysi al-Kabir to distinguish him from his son Hasan al-Juraysi. He received the readings and an ijaza from Ahmad al-Durri al-Tuhami; his students included his son, Ali Subay', Ghunaym Muhammad Ghunaym and Yusuf al-Dijwi.
