Biography

Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Yusuf of Amasya, known as Yusuf Efendi-zade (also Abdullah Hilmi), was a leading Ottoman Qur'an reader. He read with Ali ibn Sulayman al-Mansuri and taught the readings in Istanbul. His works include al-I'tilaf fi Wujuh al-Ikhtilaf on the ten readings and Najah al-Qari, a commentary on Sahih al-Bukhari. He died in Istanbul.
