An Upper-Egyptian Maliki reader of the Shadhili order, known as al-Rumayli with the kunya Abu al-Salah. He read the ten readings with Muhammad ibn Qasim al-Baqari, and Muhammad ibn Hasan al-Samannudi al-Munayyir read with him. His works include Nayl al-Maram on Hamza's and Hisham's pausing rules, and a book on the virtues of Abu al-Hasan al-Shadhili and Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi.
