Biography

Ahmad ibn Muhammad, known as Salmuna, an Egyptian Azhari reciter of the Maliki school who read to Ibrahim al-'Ubaydi and Sulayman al-Bibani and became the leading authority on the readings in Egypt in his day. His students included Ahmad al-Durri al-Tihami, Ibrahim al-'Attar and Yusuf al-Kharbuti. He died around 1265 AH.
