Abu al-Su'ud Ahmad ibn Umar al-Isqati, a Cairene Hanafi jurist, grammarian and reciter. He taught and gave fatwas in Cairo; Abd al-Rahman al-Ajhuri and Ali al-Badri studied with him. Works include Ajwibat al-Masa'il wa-al-Mushkilat fi Ilm al-Qira'at and a gloss on Zakariya al-Ansari's commentary on the Muqaddima al-Jazariyya. He died in 1159 AH.
