A Qur'an reciter born in Kafr Takharim who moved to Aleppo and studied at al-Khusrawiyya. He read the seven readings by the Shatibiyya to Muhammad Najib Khayyata, receiving the licence from Abd al-Wahhab al-Misri after Khayyata died, and the ten readings with Adib Shahid and Adil Himsi. He served as imam and muezzin in Aleppo mosques for over forty years and taught at the Huffaz school; he died in Aleppo in 1429 AH and was buried in al-Qattana cemetery.
