Muhammad al-Amir al-Kabir was a Maliki scholar of al-Azhar born in Sunbu in Upper Egypt. He studied with Ali al-Sa'idi al-Adawi, Ahmad al-Jawhari and others, compiled a well-known thabat of his chains, and wrote al-Majmu with its commentary and al-Iklil on Mukhtasar Khalil. He died in Cairo.
