A blind Baghdad Qur'an reciter noted for precise recitation; he read with Abu Tahir Muhammad ibn Yasin al-Halabi and others, and Abu Mansur ibn Khayrun and Abu 'Ali ibn Sukkara al-Sadafi read with him. He lived to about ninety.
