One of the two transmitters of Nafi's reading, a reader and grammarian of Medina with the kunya Abu Musa. He stayed long with Nafi', who gave him the nickname Qalun for the quality of his recitation, and he also read with Ibn Wardan. Abu Nashit Muhammad ibn Harun transmitted from him. He was born in Medina in 120 AH and died there in 220 AH.
