Abu al-Hasan Abd al-Baqi ibn al-Hasan, of Khurasani origin and born in Damascus, a reliable and precise Qur'an reader learned in the readings and Arabic. He studied with Ibrahim ibn Umar and others, moved between Baghdad, Antioch, Damascus and Egypt, and Faris ibn Ahmad took the readings from him. He died in Alexandria, or in Egypt proper by another report.
