Abu Sulayman Dawud ibn Abi Tayba was a skilled Egyptian reciter and a student of Warsh, known for his piety and his knowledge of Arabic. His son Abd al-Rahman and Habib ibn Ishaq were among those who transmitted the reading from him. He died in Egypt in Shawwal 223 AH.
