Biografie

Muhammad Habiballah ibn Ma Ya'ba al-Jakani al-Shinqiti was a Maliki jurist and hadith scholar from Mauritania who learned the Qur'an, its orthography and the Warsh reading from the reciter Muhammad al-Amin al-Jakani. He taught in Marrakesh at the request of Sultan Abd al-Hafiz, then in the Sacred Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, and finally at al-Azhar, where he taught hadith. He wrote about ten books on hadith, exegesis and law, and died in Cairo.
