Saba tells of a kingdom that had two gardens and a dam, was told only to be grateful, and was scattered into stories after the flood came. Around that sit Dawud, Sulayman, and a long argument about who really provides.
At this pace the whole surah takes 18 study days.
Study days are days you actually sit down to memorise — miss one and the plan simply moves with you.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ…ٱلسَّمَآءِ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ لِّكُلِّ عَبْدٍۢ مُّنِيبٍۢ
The deniers of the Hour answered; and: have they not looked at what is before and behind them of the sky and the earth?
Study days 1-3
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا دَاوُۥدَ مِنَّا فَضْلًۭا ۖ يَٰجِبَالُ أَوِّبِى مَعَهُۥ…مِنْهَا فِى شَكٍّۢ ۗ وَرَبُّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَفِيظٌۭ
Iron made soft, the jinn working, the creature of the earth at his staff; two gardens, the flood of the dam, and 'be thankful' unheeded.
Study days 4-7
قُلِ ٱدْعُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ لَا…مِعْشَارَ مَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوا۟ رُسُلِى ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ
The intercession that avails no one without permission; the argument between the weak and the arrogant; and no town was left without a warner.
Study days 8-15
قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَعِظُكُم بِوَٰحِدَةٍ ۖ أَن تَقُومُوا۟ لِلَّهِ مَثْنَىٰ…بِأَشْيَاعِهِم مِّن قَبْلُ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ فِى شَكٍّۢ مُّرِيبٍۭ
That you stand for Allah in pairs and singly and then reflect; truth has come, and falsehood neither begins nor restores anything.
Study days 16-18
Sulayman's death went unnoticed by the working jinn until a small creature ate through his staff — the surah's comment on how much of what looks like power is momentum.
