Biography

Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Hasan al-Samannudi, a Shafi'i Azhari scholar called al-Munir, was born in Samannud in 1099 AH and memorised the Qur'an with its readings. He took the readings from Ali ibn Muhsin al-Rumayli and other sciences from al-Sujayni, al-Budayri al-Dimyati, al-Hifni and others. He lived to about one hundred; Ibrahim al-Ubaydi was among his students in the readings. He died in Rajab 1199 AH.
