Taqi al-Din Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Abd al-Khaliq of Egypt, known as al-Sa'igh, was the leading Qur'an teacher of Egypt in his time. Born in 636 AH, he read the readings with al-Kamal Ibrahim ibn Faris of Damascus and al-Kamal Ali ibn Shuja' al-Darir. Reliable and tireless in teaching, he had many students including Ibn Aydughdi, and died in Cairo in 725 AH.
