Abu al-Ma'ali Ibn al-Labban, a precise and trustworthy Damascene reciter of the 8th Hijri century. He began studying the readings in 727 AH, read with Ahmad ibn Nahla and studied with Burhan al-Din al-Ja'bari, and was one of Ibn al-Jazari's teachers in the qira'at.
