Sulayman ibn Mihran al-A'mash of Kufa, born in 60 AH, was a leading authority in Qur'an reading and hadith. He read with Yahya ibn Wathhab, Ibrahim al-Nakha'i, Zirr ibn Hubaysh, Asim and Mujahid. Hamza al-Zayyat, Ibn Abi Layla, Za'ida ibn Qudama and Aban ibn Taghlib read with him. He died in Rabi' al-Awwal 148 AH.
