Yahya ibn Waththab al-Asadi of Kufa, a trustworthy and devout Successor, was the leading reader of Kufa in his time. He learned the Qur'an from Ubayd ibn Nadla and read with Alqama, al-Aswad, Masruq, Zirr ibn Hubaysh and Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami. Al-A'mash, Talha ibn Musarrif and Humran ibn A'yan read with him. He died in 103 AH.
