Abu al-Aza'im Sultan ibn Ahmad al-Mazzahi, an Egyptian Shafi'i jurist and Qur'an reader of al-Azhar. He took the readings from Sayf al-Din ibn Ata Allah al-Fudali and became the head of Qur'an teaching in Cairo, teaching by the Shatibiyya, Tayyiba and Durra. His students included Ali al-Shabramallisi, Muhammad al-Baqari and Ali ibn Sulayman al-Mansuri; he wrote a commentary on al-Ansari's Manhaj.
