Shaykh Mahmud ibn Ibrahim al-Kizawi of Hama, head of the Qur'an readers of Hama in his day and a link in the Hama chains. He read the ten readings by the Shatibiyya and Durra routes with the Damascus master Ahmad al-Hulwani. He licensed students including Ahmad ibn Husayn Za'rur (in 1305 AH) and Ahmad al-Babuli of Hama.
