Abu al-Abbas Ahmad ibn Sa'id, known as Ibn Nafis, was originally from Tripoli and settled in Egypt. A reliable authority who lived nearly a hundred years, he came to hold the highest chains in the readings, having read with Abu Ahmad al-Samiri, Abu Adi Abd al-Aziz ibn Ali, Abu al-Tayyib ibn Ghalbun and Abu Tahir al-Antaki. Many chains run through him, notably via his student Abu Ma'shar al-Tabari. He died in 453 AH.
