Biographie

Abu Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ghazi of Meknes, later of Fez, was a Maliki jurist, reciter, historian and mathematician, born in Meknes in 841 AH. He studied closely with Abu Abd Allah al-Saghir, completing three readings of the Qur'an with him, the last in the seven readings, and taught and preached at the great mosque of Meknes before settling in Fez. His works include Insad al-Sharid on the Shatibiyya and al-Rawd al-Hatun, a history of Meknes. He died in Fez in 919 AH.
