Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Sulayman al-Ansari al-Qurtubi, reciter and senior teacher of Fez, also a jurist and grammarian. He read with Abu Ja'far ibn al-Zubayr of Granada and Ibn Hawt Allah among others, and transmitted the Shatibiyya and Taysir. Muhammad ibn Umar al-Lakhmi, shaykh of Fez, and Abu al-Barakat al-Balafiqi read with him. He wrote a book on how to combine the readings.
