A blind Egyptian reciter of Abbasid descent who studied closely with al-Shatibi and married his daughter, hence known as al-Kamal al-Darir and al-Shatibi's son-in-law. He became the foremost teacher of recitation in Egypt; Taqi al-Din al-Sa'igh was among his students.
