A Baghdad Qur'an reader of the sixth Islamic century, author of al-Misbah al-Zahir fi al-Qira'at al-Ashr al-Bawahir, which gathers some five hundred transmission routes. He was known for piety, mastery of the variant transmissions and high chains, and died in Baghdad in Dhu al-Hijja 550 AH.
