Egyptian Maliki reciter of al-Azhar in the 13th century AH. He read the ten readings (Shatibiyya, Durra and Tayyiba) with Ahmad Salmuna and succeeded him as head of the Egyptian reciters; his students included Muhammad al-Mutawalli and Hasan Badir al-Juraysi al-Kabir.
