A long-lived Andalusian Qur'an master from Valencia. He studied closely with his stepfather Abu Dawud Sulayman ibn Najah, reading the seven readings to him and hearing his books, and was the most reliable transmitter from him. Imam al-Shatibi presented al-Taysir to him and heard hadith from him.
