Biography

Abu al-Abbas Ahmad ibn Ali ibn Yahya ibn Awn Allah al-Hassar was an Andalusian reciter from Denia who later lived in Murcia, born around 530 AH. He read the seven readings with Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Hudhayl and also studied with Ibn al-Ni'ma and Ibn Sa'ada; his students included Abu al-Qasim al-Alam and Muhammad ibn Mushliyun. He died in Safar 609 AH.
