Biography

A Meccan scholar of the Tabari family who served as imam at the Station of Abraham in the Sacred Mosque. Born in Mecca in Rabi' al-Awwal 807 AH, he read with Ibn al-Jazari and took several of his books from him, including al-Nashr, and also studied with al-Zayn al-Maraghi. His sons succeeded him as imams; he died in Safar 894 AH.
